However in this case, with the mix of 140mm, 120x38mm and 120x25mm fans, it's a bit challenging to think of a suggestion. If you can wait a few days for me to get my 3rd 140mm xigmatek i'll be able to give you some tests of a 3 fan setupĪs for the OP, I'm not sure but normally having a more powerful fan at the end (in the case of a 120mm setup) is the best because the more powerful pull fan makes sure that no air escapes the edges by pulling any of that escaping air in.

I would think ( i would think ) if you wasnt gonna go for a extra n12 then you would need to get 3 of the same fans. I have seen a review with a extra noctua 12, if it was tobe believed then it cut temps by 1c, i'll try and find it for you.

The 14 and the 12 was designed to work together, both give out different cfm aswell as rpm speeds are different but they was designed to work together, if i believe correctly the 14 was developed with the heatsink which in turn was created to work with the 12 that was allready on retail shelves. Would it be easier with all fans the same? Sure but in any case, the air is going through fins so is not like one fan is 'pushing' the other one faster than it can handle, again, fan controller and you can check the rpm as well if concerned. I am also thinking 3 fans might just be totally overkill and yield no improvements whatsoever over a sufficient 2 fan configuration. I suspect that Config 3 or Config 5 would provide the best results since the static pressure of all of the fans would be identical but I am not sure.

In the configurations below the Panaflo 120x38mm fans will be undervolted a bit and placed on a fan controller. Silence is not a priority but I would prefer low to medium noise levels.
